A poem series
A Year of Beauty and Pain in the Gloomy Land
Redden
Leaves reddened when I arrived
puffy and bouncy
I was there
reminiscing
to when I was longing seeing them changing colour
with a red heart, as red as leaves on September 20th
Things were foreign
and so was I
I cherished all corner
trees, leaves, pavements, bushes, berries
red and orange like the sun
The cold-grey land warmed
my coming would warm this land too, I prayed
no insight of what was crossing next
It started with “living the dream”
It continued with treading in cold water
while having bruises from previous fights
I did not see it
my eyes were too busy to see leaves and bushes
They reddened
as did my heart
